AMD 3 -- South Park

For this AMD, I first watched an episode of South Park (City Sushi) that I've never seen. I was surprised at how many words and phrases I could recognize. It was hard to tell exactly what was going on but I had an idea. I didn't really laugh at it though because I don't understand enough of German to get the jokes. I did like this because it helped me get a sense of inflection and emphasis on words but sometimes they spoke so fast that I couldn't understand at all. I also didn't like how different Butters's voice was though!

It was also cool seeing the short German commercials and how similar they were to ours!

The second episode I watched is one of my all time favorites, where they cure HIV by injecting people with money. In English, this episode is "Tonsil Trouble" but in German, it is "Arger mit den Mandeln," which I think means "Trouble with the Tonsils." I also noticed during this one that the German word for "Buffering" is "Pufferung" which is probably my favorite German word yet. This episode was much easier to understand since I've seen it before, I knew what was going on ahead of time and could translate based off of that.
