At first, I thought that German society seemed somewhat rude. Complaining and staring certainly aren't polite things to do. However, I began to realize that there were also many aspects of German society that were more logical than their equivalents in our society-not beating around the bush when it comes to party invitations, etc.

The articles made me realize that, in order to understand another culture, I have to throw out my perceptions of what is rude, and realize what I do that I would consider polite or proper, but might be considered rude to the other culture.

I hope to visit Germany someday, and I will keep these things in mind!
