AMD-2 "The Awful German Language"
For this Adventures with German assignment, I decided to read Mark Twain's "The Awful German Language" as well. In the Kapital 2 video, I was intrigued when it was mentioned. I found parts of the article to be quite funny, especially when Twain translated parts of German books to English just to exemplify how different the structure is. It was a bit discouraging to see how complex German grammar is, and how long it will probably take to master. There are so many different cases, separable verbs, and no rhyme or reason for the genders of German nouns. However, it is just as difficult for someone who natively speaks German to learn English, as our sentence structure is so different.
